Call Out Charge - Call out charges are basically used to raise the minimum value
for a call out. We don’t charge call out fees and always advise you of the cost before
we attend. If we need to make additional charges during the job we will agree it
with you before proceeding with the work.
Agency Fees - If you look in yellow pages under locksmiths the first few pages will
virtually all be agencies. Though their costs are high, they make their money by
calling a locksmith, advising you of the call out or total costs (usually a swinging
great fee) and then deduct up to 65% from the Locksmith. Apart from realising that
these initial pages are agencies, they will also charge you for the call out over
Tricks - One of the simplest tricks is to drill out and replace the lock, charging
you for the additional time and a new lock. Having insufficient inventory of parts
means the locksmith has to make a second visit, adding to your cost. We cannot claim
to fix every call on a first visit (typically we fix 97% on a first visit) but we
carry an extensive stock of locks and expensive tools to help us give the best service.
Fixed charges - we will always try to complete a task at the price we agreed. Only
exceptional circumstances will necessitate us having to charge extra for parts or
High Charges - Even though we aim to offer good value for money, you may still think
we are charging an excessive fee for an emergency call out. Locksmith services are
typically call out services and this means we don’t get a steady income. When we
undertake planned work or offer consultancy services our charges can and often will
be lower. As an independent locksmith we still believe we are very cost effect for
all the reasons stated above.
Warranty - we offer a full 12 month warranty. Because you chose Lock Express you
know how to reach us again to review your home security or deal with a warranty issue,
should one occur.
